About the Event

Join Saturn Running for the Elf Bobble Hat Run, a festive trail race along the scenic River Wear in Durham. Set to take place on December 12, 2027, this unique event offers runners and walkers of all abilities an opportunity to enjoy stunning views of Durham Cathedral while celebrating the holiday season.
The race features a flexible time challenge format, allowing participants to run as much or as little as they like within a 7-hour window. The course loops around for varying distances: from a minimum 3km option up to full marathon and ultra runs. Each lap covers approximately 4.37 miles (or 7km), with clear signage ensuring easy navigation.
All finishers will receive an exclusive themed medal, a cozy bobble hat, and a goody bag filled with treats for both standard and vegan runners. Distance pins are available to those who complete half-marathon or longer distances, adding extra recognition to their achievements.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UK Athletics rules, offering discounts to members of affiliated clubs. Race HQ provides essential facilities such as toilets and changing areas near the start/finish line, along with a well-stocked aid table for hydration and snacks throughout the day.
