Dudhsagar Ultra Trail, Goa 2026

Dudhsagar Ultra Trail is an exhilarating adventure through the enchanting Western Ghats, offering runners of all levels a unique blend of breathtaking scenery and challenging terrain. This annual race takes place on December 6, 2026, and features four distinct categories: a grueling 100km ultra marathon, a scenic 55km trek, a half-marathon (21km), and shorter trail challenges.
The event begins at the picturesque Dudhsagar Plantation, a tranquil oasis of lush greenery and natural beauty. As runners set off from this serene starting point, they are greeted by winding trails that wind through dense forests and along rugged mountain paths. The route is marked with steep climbs and descents, offering panoramic views of Goa's stunning Western Ghats landscape.
The centerpiece of the race is undoubtedly the Dudhsagar Waterfall, a majestic four-tiered cascade nestled within Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park. This awe-inspiring natural wonder has earned its name "Dudhsagar," meaning 'sea of milk,' due to the milky appearance of water as it cascades down rocky tiers, creating an ethereal spectacle that captivates all who witness it.
Participants in the longer distances will encounter a mix of jeep trails and agricultural fields alongside more challenging mountainous terrain. The course includes moderate technical sections with loose rocks but no significant obstacles like boulders. Runners are advised to prepare thoroughly for this demanding ultra, as elevation gains can exceed 1600 meters through lush forests.
For those seeking an even greater challenge, the 100km route boasts a total ascent of 1530m and reaches its highest point at 650m. The cut-off time is set to 16 hours for this grueling distance, ensuring that only well-prepared athletes will be able to complete it within the designated timeframe.
The shorter distances offer equally rewarding experiences:
- 55km: With an elevation gain of 640 meters and a highest altitude of 201m.
- Half Marathon (21km): Featuring an ascent of 280 meters, also reaching up to 201m in height.

Each category is designed not only for athletic achievement but also for the enjoyment of nature's splendor. Runners are encouraged to immerse themselves in the serene beauty and cultural richness of Goa’s lesser-known landscapes beyond its famous beaches.
Registration criteria vary by distance, with age requirements starting from 12 years old for the fun run up to 18 years or older for longer distances like the half marathon and ultra trail. Qualifying times are necessary for participants aiming at the more challenging courses, ensuring that all runners have a fair chance of completing their chosen distance within set limits.
