Doomsday 5K

The Doomsday 5K trail race marks its debut on January 1, 2027, setting off the New Year with an invigorating run through Cliff Cave County Park. Hosted by Terrain Trail Runners-STL, this event welcomes all runners—male, female, and non-binary—to explore a scenic route that blends pavement and dirt trails.
Starting near the train tracks in the park's lower parking lot, participants will embark on a 5K journey featuring rolling hills, roots, and rocks. The race begins with half a mile of paved road before transitioning to the Spring Valley Trail Outer Loop for approximately 1.8 miles. This all-dirt trail offers a mix of elevation changes that challenge runners while providing stunning views of nature.
The inaugural event promises an inclusive environment where every runner feels supported and celebrated, regardless of their gender identity or experience level. Terrain Trail Runners-STL is committed to fostering diversity in the sport by partnering with the Trail Mix Fund, which provides free registration for those facing financial barriers or seeking a supportive community to join.
Race day will see participants setting off at 10:00 AM, with a generous time limit of two hours to complete the course. Post-race festivities include hot coffee and snacks in the park pavilion, exclusively for runners and volunteers who bring their own reusable mugs as part of the event's sustainability efforts.
Registration is open now through January 1st at regular rates or $70 on race day if you prefer cash-only payments. All registrants will receive a custom pint glass (or choose an alternative item), while finishers can look forward to a unique medal and the chance to plant a tree as part of their entry fee.
