Défi Élévation

On July 24, 2027, the Backyard Challenge redefines its terrain with an exhilarating mix of solo and team climbs. The event features four escalating mountain challenges: Defi Etna at 3,403 meters with 17 ascents and descents; Defi Matterhorn reaching a lofty 4,478 meters over 22 peaks; the formidable Defi Huascaran at an impressive 6,768 meters across 33 climbs and drops; and finally, the ultimate test in mountaineering, Defi K2 at 8,611 meters with 42 ascents.
Solo climbers will tackle three additional peaks: the historic Defi Acropole (1048m), steep Washington Peak (1917m), and the challenging Cascade Mountain (2998m).
Participants also face two timed segments: GOAT, where they must ascend Gaby Pleau's trail as quickly as possible; and Peregrine, a lightning-fast descent down Dorothée.
Adding to the challenge is the new Philanthropic Relay segment. This involves one ascent and descent at Le Relais Ski Center for young athletes, with all proceeds supporting local youth organizations aiming to provide free access to both the 5km road race and LCDC Trail events.
To officially register, each participant must raise a minimum of $200 in donations, fostering community engagement while pushing personal limits on rugged terrain.
