Nestled within the expansive Withlacoochee State Forest, the Croom Zoom Trail Runs offer runners an immersive experience through one of Florida's most beautiful natural landscapes. Named by the World Wildlife Fund as one of North America’s top destinations, this forest provides a serene and diverse backdrop for trail enthusiasts. The event features three distinct distances: 50 kilometers, 20 miles, and 10 miles, each winding through Croom Park’s extensive network of trails. These routes are known for their oak hammocks and lush tree canopies that shield runners from the sun while offering stunning views of classic Florida scenery. The terrain is well-defined with a mix of gentle climbs and descents, making it an ideal setting for both seasoned trail runners and newcomers. Participants in the 50K course will traverse multiple loops through Croom Park’s main trails, starting with a unique initial loop before settling into their full-distance journey. For those opting for the shorter distances, the park's well-marked paths ensure a scenic and challenging run without the need to navigate unfamiliar territory. Water stops are strategically placed approximately every five miles along all routes, providing essential hydration and nutrition support throughout the race day. Runners can also access drop bags near the main staging area during their loops, ensuring they have everything needed for an uninterrupted experience. Race packets will be available at packet pickup from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday evening or morning of the event if preferred. The start/finish line is conveniently located close to hotels off I-75 and S.R. 50, making it easy for participants to arrive well-rested. All registered runners are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt, with additional shirts available at race day registration on a first-come, first-served basis. The event celebrates all finishers with awards presented upon completion of their chosen distance, alongside age group accolades and trophies for the overall male and female winners in each category. The Croom Zoom Trail Runs promise an unforgettable adventure through one of Florida's most picturesque trail systems, inviting runners to explore the natural beauty and tranquility of Withlacoochee State Forest.
