Crimson River Run 5K/10K

Experience the vibrant spirit of Baton Rouge at the 6th Annual Crimson River Run on March 6, 2027. Hosted by the Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., this certified USATF event offers a scenic route through the Southern University and A&M College campus.
Registration is now open with early bird rates available until October 20 for $25 per race (either 5k or 10k). Regular registration from October 21 to January 21 costs $30, while late registrations between January 22 and March 6 will incur a fee of $35. Race day registration on-site is also an option at the same rate.
Participants who register by January 30th secure not only their spot but also a commemorative T-shirt and finisher's medal. Those registering after this date may miss out on t-shirts due to limited availability.
For seniors aged 60 or older, there’s the exclusive Dear Dash—a quick, spirited walk to kick off the race festivities with an added dash of community spirit.
Prizes include Varsity Sports gift cards for top performers: $125 each for overall adult male and female winners in both races. The youth categories (ages 0-19) will see $100 prizes awarded to their champions. Additional awards are given to the first three male and female runners across various age groups, ranging from 0-19 years old up to those aged 80+.
The event welcomes group participation and encourages community engagement beyond the race itself. Following the run, everyone is invited to a Community Health and Economic Summit featuring health screenings and local business vendors.
