About the Event

On New Year's Day 2025, the charming town of Frévent will host its annual Corrida de la St Sylvestre. This festive race welcomes runners and walkers alike for an enjoyable start to the year.
Registration for participants is available from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at the Cours Pro Hall on Market Square in Frévent, where all entrants will collect their race bibs before the festivities begin. The event kicks off with a children's section designed to introduce young athletes to running.
Children aged between 8 and 14 years old (born from 2016-2019) compete in either the mini-poussins or poussin categories, racing distances of 500 meters for younger kids and 1 kilometer for older children. The race then continues with a more challenging segment at 1:45 PM when benjamins (born from 2013-2012) take part in a 2.5-kilometer run, followed by minimes (from 2011 and earlier) also tackling the same distance.
For older participants aged 15 years and above (those born prior to 2010), two races are offered: a scenic 5-kilometer loop starting at 2:15 PM and a longer, more challenging 10-kilometer course beginning an hour later. Both courses wind through the picturesque streets of Frévent, offering runners beautiful views as they cross the finish line.
All participants receive a commemorative gift and refreshments after crossing the finish line to celebrate their achievements. The event is non-competitive with no official timing or certificates issued, making it perfect for families looking to enjoy the holiday spirit together in an active way.
