Conquer The Beast

About the Event

Location Willow Creek State Recreation Area (SRA) is a beautiful state recreation area in northeastern Nebraska, located on the 700-acre Willow Creek Reservoir. The park is approximately 4 miles southwest of Pierce and about 15 miles northwest of Norfolk. Willow Creek SRA is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Last Beast Standing Last Beast Standing is a timed endurance race where competitors must complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour. Each runner must complete the loop in less than one hour to continue racing. The format is based on the challenge of maintaining a pace equivalent to 100 miles in 24 hours. The race continues hour after hour until only one runner remains capable of completing the required loop within the one-hour time limit. The final runner to successfully complete a lap is declared the winner and only official finisher. All other competitors will receive a DNF (Did Not Finish). This is a race of endurance, strategy, patience, and mental toughness. How long can you keep your Inner Beast running wild? Course The course is a 4.167-mile loop consisting primarily of crushed limestone terrain. Runners will complete the same loop each hour, with the goal of returning to the Start/Finish area before the one-hour cutoff.
