Get ready for an invigorating trail race that promises to shake off those holiday cobwebs and offer you a memorable running experience on December 28, 2026. This hilly and muddy course winds through scenic trails, making it the perfect event for both seasoned runners and trail enthusiasts alike.
The route features varied terrain with plenty of elevation changes, providing an exhilarating challenge that will test your endurance as well as your navigation skills. The race is a community-driven affair, fostering camaraderie among participants while supporting a worthy cause – Calder Valley Search and Rescue through donations from the event's proceeds.
Entry fees remain frozen for 2026 following last year’s successful turnout. While there are no finisher medals on offer this time around, all runners will be treated to complimentary hot soup and drinks in the cozy clubhouse post-race, ensuring you stay warm after your efforts.
For safety reasons, a cut-off point has been set at approximately six miles along Coley Road. Runners who do not reach this checkpoint within two hours will be directed back towards the finish line without completing the full loop. This ensures that volunteers and participants remain safe during what can often be an extremely cold and wet day.
First male and female winners receive free entry to next year’s race, adding a competitive edge for those aiming to top the leaderboard. Additionally, age category prizes will also be awarded on the day, encouraging runners of all ages to push their limits and enjoy friendly competition.
Transfers are permitted up until midnight on December 17th but no refunds can be issued as we’re raising funds for our chosen charity. On-day entries may still be available at a £2 premium if spots remain open after that date.
Participants must be aged 18 or over to enter the race, which is licensed by the Trail Running Association (TRA) and run under UK Athletics rules. Race numbers will need to be collected from Race HQ upon arrival on December 28th; registration opens at 8:30 am sharp.
