Cambridge Multi Sport (CMS) is hosting a weekly, virtual, bracket style mile challenge. Each week, you will be paired up with another runner based on your mile "seeding" time and then moving forward based on the results of each week.
Results will be Age & Gender graded based on the World Masters Athletics (WMA) Age Factors and Parameters to make all pairings as fair as possible.
For example, a 37-Year-Old, Male runner with a mile time of 6:30 (59.01% WMA Age Grade Factor) is equal to a 60-Year-Old, Female Runner with a mile time of 8:53.50 (59.01% WMA Age Grade Factor)
Awards: 1st place 25% of proceeds, 2nd place 15% of proceeds, 3rd place, 10% of proceeds. 50% of proceeds go to CMS to fund Social Activities.
Runs can be logged Tuesday-Sunday and all runs must be tracked using a GPS Enabled Website/App such as Garmin, Coros, Strava, MapMyRun, etc. for verification purposes & each runner is responsible for logging their results in the race results section by 11:59pm each Sunday. Failure to log results will result in a DQ. Elapsed time will be used for race results. Stopping your watch will not stop your mile time so plan your routes accordingly to plan for traffic lights, road crossings, etc.
All Mile Runs must be logged separately from other workouts. For example, do not log your 1-mile race time in the middle of a 5-mile activity. Routes must also start & finish within 100 yards of each other to prevent point-to-point/downhill advantages. No Treadmill Allowed.
Week 1 (12/1/26-12/6/26) - All Runners complete a "Seeding" 1 mile time to determine the first head-to-head matchups
Week 2 (12/8/26-12/13/26) - Round of 32
Week 3 (12/15/26-12/20/26) - Round of 16
Week 4 (12/22/26-12/27/26) - Round of 8
Week 5 (12/29/26-1/3/27) - Round of 4
Week 6 (1/5/27-1/10/27) - Championship to determine 1st & 2nd Place. Consolation to determine 3rd place
