On February 28, 2027, the São José City Race will take place in São José dos Campos, featuring distances of 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and 21 kilometers. The race starts at the Municipal Building (Paço Municipal) on Av. Teotônio Vilela in Vila Santa Luzia, with all participants finishing back at this iconic location.
The event begins early morning, starting with a staggered start for different categories: PCD runners will kick off at 5:55 AM followed by the elite and open race categories shortly after. The atmosphere is electric as athletes gather to begin their journey through São José dos Campos's varied terrain.
Participants can expect an engaging course that includes both uphill climbs and downhill sections, adding a dynamic element to each runner’s experience. This challenging yet scenic route winds its way around the city, offering runners stunning views of local landmarks while testing their endurance and agility.
Race organizers emphasize punctuality and preparation for competitors, requiring them to arrive well in advance and adhere strictly to assigned start times. Those who do not cross the starting line within 10 minutes after their designated time will have their results disqualified.
Competitors are encouraged to inform race officials of any qualifying technical indices during registration, which can secure a spot at the front of the pack for elite runners. The event website, www.circuitooscar.com.br/saojose2, provides comprehensive details and updates leading up to race day.
