CIRCUITO DE CORRIDAS CAIXA - ETAPA RIO DE JANEIRO 2026

On December 6, 2026, the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro will host the Circuit Caixa race, an invigorating event that caters to runners and walkers alike. The race offers two distances: a challenging 10 km run for elite athletes and general participants, as well as a more accessible 5 km option available both in running and walking formats.
Elite competitors can expect an early start with the paralympic racers beginning at 5:50 AM, followed by male and female elites at 5:55 AM. The main field of runners will take off from the starting line promptly at 6:00 AM. All participants are advised to listen for any last-minute announcements that may adjust start times.
The race route winds through Rio's iconic neighborhoods, offering breathtaking views of Sugarloaf Mountain and Copacabana Beach along its scenic course. The event is open regardless of weather conditions but will be suspended only in cases of extreme safety concerns or force majeure events.
For those interested in the elite category, participants must meet specific qualifying times from official races within the last 12 months to secure a spot in this competitive field. Applications for exemption and detailed requirements can be submitted via email up until ten days before the event date.
The Circuit Caixa race also includes categories such as age groups, an exclusive economy tier for CAIXA employees with special discounts, and a walking division specifically designed for individuals of all ages starting from 12 years old.
Registration details and additional information will be announced on the official website in the lead-up to the event. No matter your level or preference, this race promises to deliver an unforgettable experience amidst Rio de Janeiro's dynamic urban landscape.
