Cayuga Trails celebrates its 14th year on June 5, 2027, offering runners an unparalleled adventure through some of New York State's most stunning trails. Nestled within the Finger Lakes region and supported by dedicated volunteers from local trail running groups like TrailsRoc and Happily Running, this event promises a blend of natural beauty and community spirit.
The course itself is nothing short of spectacular, featuring nearly 95% singletrack terrain that winds through lush forests, alongside cascading waterfalls, and historic stone stairs. With around 10,000 feet of elevation gain for the ultra distance and 7,000 feet for the 50k option, runners will experience a challenging yet rewarding journey.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to post-race refreshments from Fitnell Farms, a custom-designed medal courtesy of Ragged Cuts, and a Patagonia Sun Hoody. A portion of each entry fee is donated back to local trail organizations such as Finger Lakes Land Trust and State Parks Heritage Trust.
With a field limit of 440 runners, Cayuga Trails maintains an intimate atmosphere where every participant feels valued. The event encourages the use of reusable cups for hydration stations, promoting sustainability in line with its eco-friendly ethos.
For those looking to support their fellow racers from the sidelines, parking is available at the main lot near the lower park entrance, and crews are welcome but must walk between locations due to limited space around the staging area. Drop bags can be left at designated points along the route for convenience during long stretches of the race.
