Burnsall Trail Hike 13 miles

On April 17, 2027, Due North Trail Races invites you to join the Burnsall Half Marathon Hike and celebrate its tenth anniversary. This unique event opens up an exclusive 13-mile route through the breathtaking Yorkshire Dales for both walkers and runners alike.
Starting at 8:00 am from Burnsall village, participants will have ample time to explore this scenic trail at their own pace. The well-marked course winds through lush countryside and historic landmarks, offering stunning views of rolling hills and serene landscapes without the pressure of racing against the clock. Along the way, walkers can enjoy support from event marshals and regular drink stations stocked with refreshments like fruit and biscuits.
All hikers are required to carry essential items including a waterproof jacket, trousers, warm hat, gloves, water, food snacks for sustenance throughout the hike, and an extra layer of warmth such as a fleece or synthetic long-sleeve top. Given the rural setting, suitable walking footwear is crucial. The event organizers emphasize preparation for changing weather conditions to ensure safety.
The car park opens at 6:45 am, providing free parking until 4 pm. Registration takes place between 7 and 7:45 am with a kit check beforehand to verify that all mandatory items are carried by participants. A time limit of seven hours ensures everyone completes the hike safely; hikers should aim for Masons Campsite within three hours and fifteen minutes, after which they may be directed onto an alternative route back if necessary.
Upon finishing at Burnsall village, walkers receive a finisher's medal and a goody bag filled with treats. The event is designed to accommodate all levels of fitness while prioritizing safety and enjoyment for everyone involved.
