Buchlyvie 10k

The Buchlyvie 10k, scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2027, invites runners to experience a scenic trail race through the heart of this charming Scottish village. Limited to just 300 participants, the event promises an intimate and welcoming atmosphere as it celebrates its annual tradition.
Registration takes place at Buchlyvie Village Hall from 11:00 AM, where you'll receive your chip-timed race number before heading out onto the course. The race begins behind the Primary School and follows Station Road for a little over half a mile before turning right onto an old railway track that is mostly flat.
The route features well-marked signs leading to Barbadoes Cottage at the halfway point, where runners will find water and jelly babies to refuel during their turnaround. On your return journey, you'll finish back at the Primary School, completing this out-and-back course in approximately 90 minutes depending on weather conditions.
Safety is a top priority with first aiders, marshals from Lomond Mountain Rescue Team, and support from Central Scotland Police ensuring all participants stay safe throughout the event. The race adheres to UK Athletics rules under Scottish Athletics Trail Race regulations (license ES015335).
Post-race festivities include refreshments such as home baking available for purchase in the Village Hall along with water stations at key points on the course. All finishers will receive a medal, goodie bag filled with treats like biscuits and fruit, making it an event not to be missed.
Parking is available near Flanders Rest (a layby location) where there are paid toilets; alternatively, you can park in the village hall carpark or along Main Street for free. Public transport options include bus number 10 from Stirling if driving isn't feasible.
