On race day itself, Saturday July 11th, early morning light bathes the water, making for an invigorating start to the swim.
The Bring on the Bay event has been running since its inception and has become a beloved tradition, attracting swimmers from across the region. Past editions have seen over two hundred participants each year, all contributing to raising funds for local charities through their participation. The race not only brings together individuals of different ages but also serves as a testament to the community's commitment to health and wellness.
The course itself begins at Nepean Sailing Club where swimmers will gather before making their way into Britannia Bay. Swimmers in the 3K event will start first, followed by those in the 1.5K after ten minutes. The terrain is primarily open water with a flat layout ensuring that swimmers of all abilities can enjoy the challenge without too much variation. On race day, expect a comfortable temperature with an average high around 23 degrees Celsius and humidity levels in the mid-70s, making for pleasant conditions to swim in. The Nepean Sailing Club will serve as the main registration point where participants can pick up their race numbers and any necessary information.
