Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme & Taff Xtreme Marathon

The Brecon to Cardiff Xtreme offers an exhilarating ultra-distance challenge through the rugged Welsh mountains. This 75km course is designed for seasoned runners eager to tackle steep ascents, technical terrain, and remote ridgelines under winter conditions. The route features iconic peaks such as Pen y Fan, Cribyn, and Fan y Big, providing breathtaking views throughout.
For those seeking a more focused challenge, the Taff Xtreme Marathon joins the ultra at Merthyr, covering 26.2 miles of demanding terrain with significant elevation gain. Both events require GPS navigation due to unmarked trails and remote locations. Runners can expect technical descents and stunning valley vistas as they traverse through dense forests.
The indoor halfway checkpoint in Merthyr allows ultra runners to access drop bags while enjoying a brief respite from the elements before continuing on their journey. The race concludes at Coleg y Cymoedd, where participants are greeted with GPS tracking and warm hospitality after an unforgettable mountain-to-city adventure.
This event is not for the faint of heart; it's a true test for runners who crave challenging conditions and wild landscapes.
