About the Event

The Born to Run Ultra Marathon Extravaganza is a multi-day trail running festival held at 4155 Figueroa Mountain Road in Los Olivos, CA. Spanning from May 13 to May 17, 2026, the event is hosted by AllWeDoIsRun and emphasizes community, campfire stories, and rugged dirt running. The event is limited to 500 total participants and guests, and registration closes on May 11, 2026. Race Categories and Schedule

The festival offers a wide variety of distances and timed challenges. The timed events (96, 72, and 48-hour options) allow runners to accumulate as many miles as possible, with prestigious buckles awarded for reaching specific milestones.

Category Start Date & Time Highlights
4 Day / 96 Hour Wed, May 13 @ 8:00 AM 100 and 200-Mile Buckles available.
3 Day / 72 Hour Thu, May 14 @ 8:00 AM 100-Mile Buckle available.

Geography and Course

The course is 100% dirt, consisting of ranch roads and single-track trails on a private ranch. It is designed as two distinct 10-mile loops that meet at a central hub, allowing runners to access their vehicles or self-crew every 10 miles. Loop 1 is marked with Pink ribbons (+2100 ft gain) and Loop 2 with Yellow ribbons (+1600 ft gain).

Logistics and Ranch Access

The event operates on a private ranch with strict access windows monitored by professional security. Ranch Fees: Every person (runner or guest) must pay a $10 per person, per day ranch fee in cash at check-in. Guest Passes: Crew, pacers, and supporters must purchase a Guest Day Pass for $35 per 24-hour period. Camping: On-site camping is included for registered runners of the multi-day events. Gate Schedule: The gate has specific opening hours (generally 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM) with no entry allowed after hours.

Participation Statistics

While the event is primarily known for its laid-back vibe, participation data from previous years shows a high level of endurance among the diverse field of athletes. In recent iterations, the demographic breakdown of the top performers in the 100-mile distance highlights the event's competitive reach:
