About the Event

Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of Todmorden for the Black Night Scar Fell Race on November 24, 2026. This challenging 5.8km/315m course takes runners through dark moorland and steep terrain under the cover of nightfall, starting at 7 pm from The Hare and Hound Pub on Burnley Road. Essential for this race is a full Fell Running Association (FRA) kit: waterproof jacket with hood, trousers, hat, gloves, compass, whistle, map, and emergency food. Head torches are mandatory as participants navigate the tricky landscape in low visibility conditions. The event promises an exhilarating mix of natural beauty and technical challenges, culminating back at the pub for refreshments and prize-giving after crossing the finish line.
Teams compete for prizes with three male and female scorers counted towards their total score. With no existing records to break, this is a fresh opportunity for runners to leave their mark on Todmorden's stunning countryside under moonlit skies.
