The starting point is located 5 minutes by car on asphalt from the border of Pyatigorsk, or 15-20 minutes from its center, while all routes run exclusively along nature trails and dirt roads without access to asphalt. The main race of the Fest is the Krest track, which completely copies the route of our traditional spring Beshtaugorsky Cross. The route passes through all 5 peaks of the mountain. The "cross" means that after each minor peak, you need to return to the Big Tau again. The participants start from the EXPO at the site on the mountainside, climb to the main peak, then to one of the secondary peaks, return to the main one and to another secondary one, etc. After passing all the secondary peaks, the participants return to the main one and start descending from it to the finish line located at the starting point. The distance is 16.5km, the height difference is 2000m. The trick of this distance is that the organizers limit only the routes of ascent and descent, and the participants determine the order of passing the secondary peaks themselves. The length of the route is 5 km, the height difference is 600 m. This route is suitable for the most beginners, as thanks to the 5.5-hour limit, you can even walk it, but the views and pleasure remain. Volunteers work on all routes at key points, and the routes are fully marked.
