Belmont Public School

On Sunday, November 22, 2026, Belmont Public School hosts two free bike skills sessions designed to enhance the cycling abilities of young riders aged 8-12. The Beginner Bike Skills Session runs from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and focuses on building confidence and basic riding techniques in a supportive environment at the school's basketball courts. For those who are more experienced, the Advanced Bike Skills Session follows from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, offering opportunities for riders to refine their control and learn advanced cycling skills.
Participants should bring a well-maintained bike, helmet, water bottle, comfortable clothing, and closed-toe shoes. Sessions will proceed in light rain but may be canceled due to severe weather conditions; participants will receive notification if this occurs. Riders are reminded not to use astro turf or balconies for practice during the sessions.
The program is part of NSW Government's Get Kids Active initiative, which aims to support families in walking and cycling safely to school by building children’s confidence on bicycles. Coaches from AusBike will guide participants throughout both sessions, ensuring a fun and educational experience at Belmont Public School.
