Bedford Triathlon Team Relays

The Bedford Team Triathlon Relays, sponsored by Zone3 and now in its 14th year, returns to Box End Park on July 18, 2027. This exciting team-based event offers a fun-filled day for both experienced triathletes and beginners alike. Each three-person team will complete the sprint distance course with individual members tackling swim, bike, and run segments in relay fashion.
The race begins at 8:00 am with teams gathering from 6:30 am to collect their materials and prepare for transition. The swim takes place directly on Box End Park's lake, offering a straightforward start along the shoreline based on anticipated times. Participants then head out onto local roads for an invigorating 23-kilometer bike ride that mixes country lanes with fast sections.
The run course follows the park’s pre-marked five-kilometer route but in reverse direction, providing runners with scenic views of Box End Park as they push toward their finish line. Teams must changeover smoothly through a designated transition area between disciplines to maintain momentum and ensure seamless race progression.
With limited spots available for 144 teams, early registration is highly recommended. The entry fee stands at £183 per team (BTF members) plus an additional charge of £8 per non-BTF member athlete who needs a day license. Race briefing materials will be distributed via YouTube link prior to the event.
The Bedford Team Triathlon Relays promises not only competitive racing but also camaraderie and enjoyment among participants, making it one of the most anticipated multi-sport events in the summer calendar.
