Lake Run, presented by BeAthlit, is an enchanting multi-event running series that invites runners to explore the serene beauty of Bengaluru’s lakes. Each edition takes place at a different water body, offering participants unique trails and scenic vistas every time they lace up their shoes. More than just a race, Lake Run is a journey through some of Bangalore's most stunning natural landscapes. Completing five editions in a year earns runners the prestigious Legends of Lakes composite medal — a testament to their dedication and love for these tranquil waters. The series now features an easy-to-participate format that encourages community engagement without imposing any restrictions on personal space within or near the lakes. Participants can choose from several picturesque locations, including Sankey Tank Lake, Kalkere Lake, Begur Lake, and Sheelavanthakere Lake. To get started, runners simply need to register for their preferred lake event online. On race day, they should arrive at the designated location between 6 AM and 9 AM to collect their t-shirts from BeAthlit’s team stationed there. Participants are then free to run on their own or with friends and family along a pre-determined route that can range anywhere from 1.6K up to 10K. Using fitness apps like Strava, Garmin, Google Fit, Nike Run Club, or RunKeeper, runners should record their activities for verification purposes when they return to the lake entrance after completing their run by 9:30 AM. The BeAthlit team will be present at each location to validate runs and distribute medals. For those running with children, it’s important that an adult's Strava activity is presented as proof of participation. No bibs are issued for this event, so runners should ensure they have their t-shirts on hand when showing up to collect their well-earned rewards. While the lakes offer a peaceful setting and breathtaking views, participants must bring their own hydration and support during their run. The atmosphere at Lake Run is one of camaraderie and appreciation for nature’s beauty — making it an ideal event for both seasoned runners and those just starting out in this scenic city. This unique running series not only challenges the body but also fosters a deeper connection with Bangalore's natural treasures, ensuring that each race day leaves participants feeling rejuvenated and inspired.
