Choose your starting point at either Market Harborough or Northampton, each offering 100 spots for participants to represent their respective counties. The route features two stretches of the Brampton Valley Way, totaling 28 miles with runners covering both directions but experiencing different scenery and challenges depending on where they start.
The race course offers a traffic-free environment that winds through picturesque landscapes, including quaint villages and rolling hills. While the elevation gain is modest at just over 200 feet (61 meters), the real challenge lies in maintaining your pace for such an extended distance. The route includes two dark tunnels—422m and 294m long—that require a head torch or handheld light.
Support along the way comes from Race Harborough volunteers stationed at road crossings, ensuring safety throughout the race. Feed stations are placed every 4.5 miles to keep runners fueled and hydrated as they navigate through this challenging yet rewarding course.
