Bath & Bristol Railway Races - Autumn 2027

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the rich history of rail travel by running along the Bath & Bristol Railway Races. This unique race follows the route of an original train line from Green Park Station in Bath to Bristol Temple Meads, offering runners a flat and smooth tarmac course through picturesque countryside landscapes. The 100% paved path provides a seamless road racing experience with scenic views throughout.
The race commemorates a historic railway that operated between 1869 and 1971 before being transformed into part of the National Cycle Network in the late 20th century. Highlights along the route include the Avon Valley Railway, an active heritage line running alongside for 5 kilometers round-trip from Bitton Train Station. Runners will encounter restored signal boxes and charming stations like Warmley and Mangotsfield, each a testament to the railway's enduring legacy.
Join this race on October 10, 2027, to experience firsthand how history meets modern athletics along one of Britain’s most captivating rail routes.
Runners can choose from distances ranging from half marathon to ultra-distance options, all while enjoying the tranquil countryside and urban landmarks that mark this special course.
