Bastille Day Trail Run 2027

Experience the Bastille Day Trail Run on July 10, 2027, at Plaisir Wine Estate near Simondium. This wilderness adventure offers runners three distances: 35km, 25km, and a shorter option of either 15km or 10km for those seeking less of a challenge. The event is known to sell out every year due to its unique blend of scenic trails and challenging terrain.
Participants will enjoy an epic race village atmosphere with fully marked routes that wind through rugged landscapes. Well-stocked refuel stations are strategically placed along the course, ensuring runners stay energized throughout their journey. For those tackling the longer distances, it's essential to be prepared with a waterproof rain jacket, thermal base layer, and at least 1.5 liters of water.
Registration is available on Thursday, July 6th (pre-reg venue TBC) from 3pm to 6pm, or Friday, July 7th directly at the Plaisir Wine Estate. Early registrants will receive exclusive merchandise such as race socks for shorter distances and a Bastille Race Shirt or Jacket depending on their chosen distance.
The event promises an unforgettable finish line experience with French maids serving rewarding OBS (Ondine’s Bastille Special). Warm showers are available to help runners freshen up post-race. Don't miss out on this thrilling adventure in the South African wilderness!
