Badger Trail Races is set to take place on July 31, 2027, offering runners a unique and scenic journey along the Badger State Trail and Jane Addams Trail between Belleville, Wisconsin, and Orangeville, Illinois. The course features nearly all rail trail with only minimal asphalt sections, providing participants with an unparalleled experience through diverse landscapes. The event includes multiple distances: 100 miles (36-hour cutoff), 100 kilometers (33-hour cutoff), 50 kilometers (12-hour cutoff), and a half marathon (11-hour cutoff). Runners will be well-supported throughout the race with full aid stations placed every 4 to 8 miles, ensuring that participants have access to necessary hydration and nutrition. The route passes through charming communities such as Belleville, Monticello, Monroe, and Orangeville, each offering its own unique character and hospitality. Participants are encouraged to explore these towns during their training or downtime from the race, immersing themselves in local culture and supporting small businesses along the way. Registration for guaranteed swag and finisher's awards must be completed by July 1, 2027. After this date, while runners can still register and receive a swag bag, there is no guarantee of inclusion or availability. Deferral policies are also important to review on the event website before finalizing registration. A comprehensive race book will be released approximately one month prior to the event, providing detailed information about course maps, aid station locations, weather considerations, and other essential details for a successful run. Finishers in all races receive finisher's awards. For 100-mile participants, unique accolades include belts for starters and coveted Badger Buckles for those who complete the distance. Over-30-hour finishers earn an additional "Over 30" Buckle, while five-time finishers are awarded a special “5X 500 Mile Megabuckle.” Multiple time in-person finishers also receive Conchos representing significant locations on the trail. The Badger 100 is recognized as an official qualifier for the prestigious Badwater 135 race, adding extra value and prestige to this challenging event.
