AUTUMN - Clock Change Challenge

About the Event

Autumn brings with it a unique charm, and this year’s Autumn Clock Change Challenge offers an excellent opportunity to embrace that spirit. Featuring three distinct race categories — a challenging 10km road race, a slightly shorter but equally engaging 5km run, and a fun-filled 1.5km dash for the younger participants — there is something for everyone.
The event, now in its 17th year, has established itself as an annual highlight on local calendars. The races are meticulously measured to ensure accuracy, allowing runners of all levels to aim for personal bests across flat and fast courses that wind through picturesque country lanes.
Participants aged 15 or older can tackle the invigorating 10km course, while those aged 11 years and above have the option to run the scenic 5km route. For younger athletes under 16, there’s a fun-filled 1.5km loop around traffic-free sports fields that promises excitement and joy.
Race day is not just about running; it also features family-friendly activities to keep everyone entertained while they cheer on their loved ones or enjoy the event atmosphere themselves. The course records stand as testament to the race's competitive spirit, with impressive times set by elite runners over recent years:
- Men’s 10km: Patrick Martin (30:27)
- Women’s 10km: Lucy Morrison (36:42)
- Men’s 5km: Jamie Parkinson (15:10)
- Women’s 5km: Sarah Kingston (18:05)
All finishers in the 10km and 5km races receive custom event medals, while those completing the fun run take home a finisher's medal to commemorate their achievement.
The race day schedule is designed with flexibility for participants:
- Registration for same-day entries runs from 9:00 am to 10:45 am.
- Pre-entry numbers can be collected starting at 9:00 am.
Starting times are as follows:
- The 5km road race kicks off at 10:00 am, with a simple out-and-back course along quiet country lanes.
- The fun run begins at 10:30 am and loops around traffic-free sports fields.
- For the more seasoned runners, the challenging 10km event starts promptly at 11:00 am.
The race venue offers various amenities to enhance your experience:
- Free parking
- Changing facilities with showers available for use after the run
- Secure lockers to store personal belongings
Additionally, hot food and drinks will be on offer throughout the day. The electronic chip timing system provided by LPS Events ensures accurate results for all runners.
Awards ceremonies are scheduled at 11:15 am for both the 5km and fun run races, followed by a presentation for the 10km race at 12:15 pm.
Category prizes include top three male and female finishers in each event as well as age group winners and team awards in the 10km race.
Please note that this course is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams, pushchairs, or dogs to ensure a safe environment for all participants. Portable music players are strictly prohibited during the races; violators will be disqualified immediately.

About Wiltshire

Scenic view of

Wiltshire is a large, mostly rural county in the eastern part of the West Country of southern England. Wiltshire features large areas of rolling chalk downland and grazing farmland, including Salisbury Plain, a large expanse of downland of which part is famously used as a training area by the British Army. For the visitor to the area, Wiltshire is probably most significant because it contains several important Neolithic period monuments, including the world famous stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury, and the former settlement of Old Sarum. The county also offers a selection of fascinating towns and villages, as well as embracing the southern parts of the picturesque Cotswolds region.
