About the Event

Experience the vibrant energy and stunning scenery of Box End Park on September 19, 2027, for one of the UK's most beloved late-season triathlon events. This inclusive race welcomes athletes from all walks of life—whether you're a first-time triathlete or an experienced competitor looking to set new personal bests.
Set against the backdrop of Box End Lake, known for its crystal-clear waters, this event offers three main distances: Sprint, Standard (Olympic distance), and Odyssey Middle Distance. Each course is meticulously designed with scenic bike routes and picturesque run courses that wind through the park's lush trails.
Athletes can also choose from Aquabike events or Relay options to share the challenge with friends, family, or teammates. The event caters to a wide range of abilities, ensuring there’s something for everyone who wants to test their limits in one of Britain’s most scenic triathlon venues.
From dawn until dusk, participants will enjoy an enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere. Marshals cheer you on from start to finish, making the race day experience truly unforgettable. Spectators line the routes, adding a vibrant energy that propels athletes forward with every lap.
Event organizers ensure fair competition under non-draft legal rules, allowing competitors to showcase their skills without undue pressure. The multi-lap course design offers plenty of opportunities for spectators and fellow participants alike to cheer on those pushing themselves towards personal goals.
For those planning an extended stay, camping is available at Box End Park by emailing [email protected]. This allows athletes to fully immerse in the event’s welcoming community spirit before and after race day.
The ATW Box End Triathlon prides itself on inclusivity, welcoming transgender athletes into either the Female category or Open category as per current guidelines introduced in January 2023. Every participant is treated equally with outstanding support throughout the entire experience.
Timings are designed to accommodate all levels of ability without unnecessary pressure; Sprint winners typically complete their race within about one hour and fifteen minutes, while final finishers usually take around three hours. For those tackling the Standard distance, expect a time frame ranging from two hours twenty minutes for top competitors down to four hours forty-five minutes overall.
Odyssey Middle Distance participants have up to nine hours thirty minutes to complete this epic challenge, ensuring safety remains paramount as they navigate multi-lap courses designed specifically for endurance athletes.
Entry includes access to professionally organized racing at one of the UK’s premier triathlon venues. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and complimentary event photography captures your momentous achievement. Refreshments await you post-race, along with opportunities to support Alzheimer's Research UK through fundraising efforts.
