ATW Grafham Triathlon

Embark on the Grafham Triathlon presented by ATW, one of the UK's premier triathlon organizers, set for Saturday, September 25, 2027. Whether you're an experienced athlete seeking a swift and competitive race or a novice looking to dip your toes into open water multisport events in a welcoming environment, Grafham Water offers an ideal venue.
Competitors can choose from two distances:
- Standard Distance Triathlon: Swim 1500m, Cycle 38km, Run 10km
- Sprint Distance Triathlon: Swim 750m, Cycle 17km, Run 5km
The swim portion takes place in the pristine waters of Grafham Water reservoir. Participants complete laps around a 750-meter loop; Sprint racers will tackle one lap while Standard competitors face two.
Following the refreshing dip into Grafham’s clear water, athletes transition to their bikes for an exhilarating flat out-and-back course through picturesque villages like Perry and St Neots. The bike route showcases some of the most scenic landscapes in the area before cyclists return to the start/finish line.
The run leg follows a 5km loop around natural footpaths surrounding Grafham Water, with runners crossing over the iconic dam wall multiple times for both distances. This flat course offers stunning views and is well-supported by enthusiastic marshals along each lap until racers reach the finish line.
For those who prefer to skip the running segment but still want a challenge, an Aquabike option (swim-bike) is available at the standard distance level. Additionally, teams can compete in relay formats that divide up the disciplines among 2 or 3 individuals.
Event amenities include Zone3 wetsuit rentals for both short-term and season-long use. Campers are invited to stay overnight on Lakeview Paddock before the event, ensuring a comfortable start time on race day.
Grafham Triathlon is known for its scenic bike route, flat run course, well-marked transitions, and supportive atmosphere. Participants will receive custom-designed medals upon crossing the finish line along with complimentary photos of their achievement. Race results are chip-timed to ensure accurate recording.
The event also supports Alzheimer's Research UK through fundraising opportunities available at checkout, allowing athletes to make a meaningful impact beyond personal performance goals.
ATW offers flexible transfer options for those who need to change plans due to unforeseen circumstances up until 48 hours before the race.
