Apfelstädter Night Run

The Apfelstädter Nachtlauf and Mitternachtslauf offer a truly unique endurance experience as Thuringia's only authentic through-the-night running event. Scheduled for May 22–23, 2026, the race centers around the Schützenhaus in Apfelstädt, creating a communal atmosphere that lasts from sunset to sunrise. Runners can choose between a focused midnight challenge or a full-night endurance test, navigating a flat 1.75 km loop that blends natural hiking paths with asphalt sections.

The event is designed with a strong focus on athlete support during the nocturnal hours. Participants have access to a wide-ranging buffet at the Schützenhaus, and the experience concludes on Saturday morning with showers, a shared breakfast, and the official awards ceremony. Because the course is run in total darkness, safety is prioritized, and all runners are required to use personal illumination to participate.

Logistics and Participant Information:
