Antonine Trail 10k

Welcome to the KO Antonine Trail Race, an exciting reimagining of the original Antonine Trail Race route with a unique twist starting and finishing in Twechar. This inaugural race promises a challenging yet rewarding experience for trail runners.
The 10k course begins on Colliery Green in Twechar and is meticulously marked throughout to ensure easy navigation. Runners will encounter steep ascents, descending into sections of the historic Antonine Wall fort before crossing over into Croy. The terrain becomes more rugged as you climb Mount Cookie and traverse Croy Hill, offering panoramic views across the Kilsyth hills.
After conquering these challenging climbs, runners face a sharp descent leading to a road crossing back towards Twechar via Creekie Wood trails. This varied landscape keeps participants engaged with ever-changing scenery and elevation changes that test both physical endurance and mental fortitude.
Registration takes place at Twechar Outdoor Pursuits Centre from 08:00 AM on the day of the race, where you can collect your number and chip timing device along with any other necessary information. The centre provides toilets, showers, changing areas, and secure space to leave personal belongings (at your own risk).
Entry fees are £15 for SAL registered runners and £18 for others, but there is no entry on the day of the race due to limited capacity. With only 150 spots available, early registration is recommended.
Prizes including cash and vouchers will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers as well as age group winners after the event concludes. Results will be published online via the club’s website, Facebook page, and on SAL/Power of 10 websites for all participants to view.
The KO Antonine Trail Race is a sanctioned SA Licenced event held under UKA rules, ensuring high standards in race organization and safety measures. A photographer will document the day's events along the course, capturing memorable moments that can be shared through social media platforms.
