About the Event
The ANTIKYRA SPORTS ACADEMY "XENODAMOS" and the Municipality of Distomo-Arachova-Antikyra are proud to present the 8th edition of their annual running race, titled "Xenodamos Road." Set against the backdrop of Antikyra's historic landscapes and natural beauty, this event welcomes runners from all walks of life. The main attraction is a challenging 10 km semi-mountainous course designed for both men and women. This route winds through scenic trails that showcase the area’s unique charm and rich history. Accompanying it are two shorter races: a certified 5,000 m race also open to all genders, offering runners an opportunity to test their skills on a slightly less demanding but equally picturesque course. Additionally, the event includes a special category for high school students with a 1,200 m run, encouraging young athletes to engage in competitive sports and foster camaraderie among peers. For younger participants, there is an 800 m race tailored specifically for primary school children, providing a fun and inclusive experience that promotes family involvement. The "Xenodamos Road" event aims to inspire participation across all age groups by highlighting the importance of physical activity and community engagement in Antikyra’s vibrant sporting culture.
