About the Event

The Healthy Kappa 5K Run/Walk/Ride is an inclusive and community-driven event designed for individuals of all fitness levels who are passionate about health and wellness. Now entering its eighth year, this annual gathering aims to promote the importance of diet, nutrition, and exercise in fostering a healthier lifestyle.
Participants can choose from running, walking, or cycling options along scenic routes through Pittsburgh’s vibrant neighborhoods. The race benefits the Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund (KSEF) of Western Pennsylvania, which has been instrumental in providing over $2.7 million in financial support to approximately 160 minority college-bound students since its inception.
In just 2023 alone, KSEF contributed more than $215,000 towards the education and future success of these young scholars from Western Pennsylvania. For those interested in supporting this vital cause beyond race day, donations can be made through their website at www.ksefpgh.org.
Following the race, participants are invited to head over to CoHatch - Southside Works for a complimentary Kappa Health Symposium: Learn, Engage & Transform event starting around 10:30 AM. This post-race symposium offers an opportunity to engage with local health practitioners and gain valuable insights into various aspects of wellness. Attendees can expect interactive sessions that cater to individuals curious about enhancing their own well-being.
The CoHatch Southside Works location, situated at 2681 Sidney St in Pittsburgh, PA 15203, provides a welcoming space for this educational event where participants can continue the conversation and share ideas. Whether you’ve just completed your run or are taking it easy on two wheels, don’t miss out on this chance to deepen your understanding of health-related topics.

The pleasure of Pittsburgh remains a well-kept secret.
