8eme canitrail des Gendarmes et les Voleurs de Temps

This weekend marks the eighth edition of Canitrail/Cross events, featuring races for runners and their canine companions across various distances. The highlight is an extraordinary canitrail race scheduled during Pentecost weekend on the scenic Trail des Gendarmes et les Voleurs de Temps.
The event offers a range of options to cater to different interests: a 5km canicross, a challenging 11km canitrail for adults and children, and an exhilarating 15km canirando. The collaboration between the organizers and Les Gendarmes et les Voleurs de Temps has been successful since its inception, making this year's event even more special.
Participants will experience a unique atmosphere with all runners starting together in one wave—a spectacle of 350 dogs and their human partners setting off simultaneously to the sound of pulsating music. The race is broadcast live on a giant screen for spectators who can cheer from the sidelines as the binômes navigate through breathtaking trails.
In previous years, the event has seen steady growth: 120 participants in 2018, over 220 by 2019 (with all spots filled), and since then, a consistent number of around 300 runners. This year, organizers have expanded to accommodate up to 350 places for the main event and an additional 250 slots specifically for canicross participants.
Given its popularity, especially following last year's successful canimarche, this edition doubles access with space for 200 binômes in a new category. Entry spots are typically snapped up within hours of release, so early registration is advised to secure your place in the adventure.
For those joining the main event, dogs must be at least two years old and vaccinated against CHPL, kennel cough, and rabies; humans should be born on or before 2006. For canicross, participants' four-legged friends need to be a minimum of one-and-a-half years old, while human competitors in the junior category are eligible.
Race numbers will be available for collection from Friday at 3 pm until 7:30 pm and Saturday morning between 6:30 am and 8:15 am. A mandatory briefing is scheduled for all participants on Saturday at 8 am before the canicross race starts promptly at 8 am, followed by an 8:30 am departure for the canitrail.
Prizes will be awarded to winners at 11 am after both races conclude. On Sunday morning, a leisurely yet scenic 15km canirando awaits up to 100 participants, starting from 9:30 am sharp.
