Experience the thrill of running inside a volcanic caldera at the 5th edition of the 7 Cities Ultimate Trail (7CUT) on Saturday, May 23, 2026, on São Miguel Island in the Azores. This event offers five distinct races, all utilizing the spectacular trails around the Sete Cidades volcano and its famous lagoons (Verde, Azul, Empadadas, Canário). The Around the Volcanic Trail (7CUT40) is a circular course traversing the volcano's ridge, highest peaks, beautiful lagoons, and the famous 7 Cities tunnel. The Scenic Trail (7CUT20) is a circular race capturing the essence of the volcano with high views and viewpoints. For a shorter challenge, the Landscapes Trail (7CUT10) showcases unique perspectives of the volcano and lagoon area. The Green & Blue Trail is a low-difficulty route running solely through the two main lagoons. Finally, the Discovery Trail offers an introductory path through lush lagoon passages. The Start, Finish Line, and Secretariat are all conveniently located at the 7 Cities Campsite, making this an unmissable destination race for trail runners seeking dramatic coastal and volcanic scenery.
