The 5th Annual Dorchester Days Bloody Mary 5K Run returns to Dorchester, Wisconsin on June 20th. This event offers a mix of running and walking options in the heart of downtown, starting from W. Washington Street just outside the Dorchester Days Beer Tent.
Race morning is crisp with temperatures expected around 68°F (20°C), making it an ideal morning for outdoor activities. The atmosphere is lively as participants move along flat village streets, passing by historic buildings and local businesses that line the route. After completing your run or walk, you can enjoy a free Bloody Mary if you're over 21 or a sundae if under.
This event has been running since its inception in 2022, growing from just over 300 participants to nearly 500 this year. It benefits local charities and scholarships, making it an important part of the community calendar each June.
The race covers a single distance: the 5K, which is approximately 3.1 miles for adults or 1 mile for younger runners in the No-Swag category. The course starts at W. Washington Street and leads participants through firm but slightly soft conditions typical of early summer mornings. There are no significant elevation changes; however, a start line hydration station offers water to all participants.
The weather on race day will be moderate with UV index around 5.6, indicating the need for sunscreen or sun protection. The temperature is expected in the low-70s Fahrenheit (21°C), which feels comfortable and pleasant without being oppressive. Precipitation is unlikely; however, carry a light jacket just to be safe.
