About the event
The Yonekawa Menuma Relay Race takes place on January 23, 2027, starting and finishing at the Central Civic Center of Yonekawa. Teams consisting of five runners race through the scenic Yonekawa district, enjoying a course that winds through urban streets, rural farmland, and along the picturesque banks of the Tone River.
With each leg being relatively short in distance, this relay is designed to be accessible for new teams looking to join the growing ranks of competitors. The event offers an intimate glimpse into local life as participants pass by traditional Japanese houses, bustling markets, and serene countryside landscapes. Teams can expect a mix of flat terrain and gentle inclines that challenge runners while providing stunning vistas at every turn.
Registration fees are 4,000 yen for middle school teams and 10,000 yen for adult teams.
