About the Event

This walk starts near the entrance of Kintetsu Taimadera Station in Nara Prefecture and follows a pilgrimage of eight historic temples and shrines, known as the Yamato Shichifuku Happo Meguri, in search of good luck, family safety and the granting of wishes. The route takes the familiar Seven Lucky Gods and adds Mt. Miwa (Omiwa Shrine), a symbol of Japan, to make eight blessings. Nara, once known as Yamato Province, has long been revered as a place where gods and Buddhas dwell. Entry is divided into a general category and one for junior high school students and younger.
