31. Bad Ischler SPARKASSE KATRIN-BERGLAUF

The Katrin-Berglauf, one of Austria's most scenic and challenging mountain races, returns for its 31st edition on June 13, 2027. This beloved race kicks off the summer series #badischllaeuft in Bad Ischl, a picturesque town nestled within the Salzkammergut region.
The event is limited to just 270 individual starters and eight Gaudi-Mixed-Staffel teams, ensuring an intimate yet competitive atmosphere for runners of all abilities. The race begins at the Kaiser-Jagdstandbild, standing at an elevation of 472 meters above sea level. From there, participants will embark on a steep ascent along the ski slope to reach the Katrin-Seilbahn Bergstation, which sits at a lofty height of 1,415 meters.
The course spans approximately 4,400 meters in length and features an elevation gain of nearly 943 meters. Runners will navigate rugged terrain as they climb through dense forest trails and over rocky outcrops, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding alpine landscape throughout their journey to the finish line at the Katrin-Seilbahn.
For those looking to secure a spot in this iconic race, entry fees remain unchanged until January 1, 2027. After that date, registration will incur an additional charge for late entries starting from June 12, 2027. Participants can pick up their start numbers on the day before or morning of the event.
