The race begins with a daunting overpass that offers breathtaking views of deep gorges below before leveling out along tranquil river paths lined with lush vegetation. As runners progress towards the latter stages, they face the event's signature steep ascent course, testing their endurance and determination to reach the finish line.
Post-race festivities include refreshing somen noodles and sweet 20th century pears, a perfect treat for tired athletes looking to cool down after the grueling climb. The day concludes with relaxation in local hot springs, rejuvenating participants amidst natural beauty.
