The Tama River Half Marathon is held in Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki, with half marathon, 10 km and 5 km races open to men and women from junior high school age. The organizers say they focus on low entry fees, accurate timing, plenty of pacers and guest cheering. To keep prices down, the race has no baggage storage and no extra portable toilets. Every runner wears a timing tag, and the official results site shows lap splits, lap rankings, finish times and category and overall placings immediately, with finisher certificates viewable online after the race. Pacers called BOOST Pacers are arranged for the half marathon in 10-second steps from 4:00 to 6:00 per kilometer, subject to change. Guests are invited to cheer on the runners every year. Participants also receive one month of online yoga from YOGAEVENT.jp, roughly 40 lessons or more, with lesson links emailed for the month after the race.
