The Tamagawa Half Marathon is run along the Tama River in Kawasaki's Takatsu Ward, with 5K, 10K and half marathon (21.1K) races for men and women of junior high school age and above, each with early and regular entry rates. The organizers put the emphasis on low entry fees, accurate timing, plenty of pacers and live support from an MC and guests. To keep fees down, there is no baggage storage and no extra portable toilets. Every runner wears a timing tag, and the official results site shows lap splits, lap rankings, finish times, category rankings and overall places. Finisher certificates can be checked online after the race. Pacers called the BOOST Pacers are arranged for the half marathon from 4:00 to 6:00 per kilometer in 10-second steps, subject to change. Each participant also receives one month of online yoga from YOGAEVENT.jp, with more than 40 lessons, the access link being emailed for the month after the race.
