The highly anticipated Kent Backyard Ultra Series 2.3 returns to the coastal marshlands of Sholden this April. Last year's event sold out quickly with a long waiting list, and organizers are ready for another successful run at Lillyroo’s Glamping.
### Event Details
- Total Places: Capped at 120 runners.
- 7 Hour Challenge: Limited to just 10 places.
The series aims to challenge participants in different ways across four unique events. Sholden offers a flat, accessible course that is ideal for chasing personal bests and testing mental fortitude without the distraction of technical terrain or steep climbs.
### Course Description
Set against the backdrop of coastal marshland near Deal, this event features an out-and-back gravel trail with minimal elevation gain—just 8 meters per yard. The simplicity and flatness make it a prime location for runners to focus on pacing and consistency throughout the day and night.
The course is easy to follow, wide enough for runners and support crews alike, allowing participants to pass each other regularly and fostering a supportive atmosphere even as hours accumulate.
### Event Format
Participants run one 4.167-mile loop (a yard) every hour until only one runner remains. The challenge lies in maintaining pace under pressure from the bell ringing at precise intervals. No matter your goal—your first yard, an ultra-distance attempt, or a shot at Luke Carter’s record of 41 yards—the event provides ample opportunity to test and push personal limits.

- Accommodation: Camping and glamping options are available for those who wish to make it a weekend experience.

### Recognition
Medals and buckles are awarded for various achievements:
- Completing at least one yard earns a DNF medal.
- Finishing 24 yards (100 miles) nets you a Bronze Buckle.
- The runner who covers the most distance at Sholden receives Gold Buckles, with second place earning Silver Assist Buckles and first overall getting a special LPS Medal.
