2.3. 7-HR Backyard Challenge: Sholden

On Saturday, April 17, 2027, runners are invited to Lillyroo’s Glamping in Deal, Kent for the Sholden 7-Hour Backyard Challenge. This unique endurance event offers participants a chance to complete up to seven hourly laps of approximately 4.167 miles each (totaling around 29.2 miles). The flat course winds through coastal marshland with minimal elevation gain per lap, allowing runners to focus on pacing and recovery.
Starting at 10:00 AM sharp, participants will have one hour to complete each loop before a brief rest period for refueling and gear changes. The final cut-off is set for 5:00 PM after the seventh yard begins at 4:00 PM. This format encourages runners to push their limits while enjoying regular encounters with fellow competitors along an out-and-back trail.
Lillyroo’s Glamping provides a welcoming atmosphere, featuring great food and cold drinks in addition to on-site camping for those looking to make it a weekend event. Support from crews is highly encouraged as they help participants manage the challenge's demanding schedule.
The top male and female finishers of the seventh yard will receive special prizes including an Enduo Sports goodie bag and free entry into the full Backyard Ultra at Bedgebury in July 2027.
