21st Sacheon Sunset Marathon

The Sacheon Sunset Marathon, now in its 21st edition, promises runners an unforgettable evening experience along the scenic Rainbow Coastal Road and within Seonjin Geobukseon Park. Set to take place on October 31, 2026, this race offers a unique blend of natural beauty and urban charm as participants run against the backdrop of a stunning sunset.
The event features two main distance options: a half marathon starting at 4:40 PM and a shorter but equally scenic 10km course. Both routes wind through picturesque coastal landscapes, offering runners breathtaking views of the sea and vibrant city lights. The race is designed to cater to serious athletes looking for competitive times as well as recreational runners enjoying an evening run.
Registration fees are KRW 40,000 for both the half marathon and the 10km event. For those seeking a shorter experience, there's also a 5km course available in two divisions: adult (KRW 20,000) and student (KRW 15,000). The race is limited to 5,000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Competitors will enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Sacheon as they embark on their evening journey. While timing chips are provided for the half marathon and 10km courses, no chip is included in the shorter 5km race. Shuttle buses are not available for this year's event, so participants should plan accordingly to reach the start line.
