The 19th Jinhae Navy Marathon is set to take place on November 7, 2026. This annual race celebrates the rich military heritage of Jinhae and offers runners an unforgettable experience through scenic routes that highlight both urban landscapes and naval bases.
Registration for this year’s event opens with a vibrant morning start at 8:30 AM at Jinhae Public Stadium. The first wave of participants, including those in the 11.11km special course commemorating the Navy's 81st anniversary, will begin their journey at 9:00 AM. A second group for the shorter but equally engaging 5km run aimed at promoting health and wellness will follow shortly after, starting at 9:10 AM.
The race courses weave through Jinhae’s historic naval areas, providing runners with a unique glimpse into Korea's maritime history while enjoying picturesque views of coastal scenery. The event is designed to cater not only to competitive athletes but also to casual fitness enthusiasts and community members looking for an enjoyable day out.
Participants can opt between two distances: the 11.11km course offers both historical significance and physical challenge, covering key naval landmarks that pay tribute to military traditions. Meanwhile, the 5km run is a perfect choice for those seeking a shorter yet equally rewarding experience focused on health promotion and community engagement.
Entry fees vary based on age group and race distance: the 11.11km event costs 30,000 won per participant, while admission to the 5km run starts at 20,000 won for general entrants and reduces to 15,000 won for students. Race organizers aim to accommodate up to 3,000 runners on a first-come-first-served basis.
For those who need to cancel their registration, refunds can be requested until September 9, 2026, at midnight (KST), with a processing fee of 1,000 won deducted from the refund amount. The event is organized by Gyeongnam Newspaper and managed by the Jinhae Marathon Organizing Committee.
