About the Event

Join us for the 55th edition of Virginia Beach’s premier running festival, the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend. Set to unfold over March 20-21, 2027, this cherished St. Patrick's Day tradition offers a diverse menu of race distances designed to cater to all levels of runners—whether you’re looking for a full marathon challenge or prefer an invigorating half marathon and 8K runs.
Each route takes competitors through Coastal Virginia’s stunning landscapes and along the scenic boardwalks, offering participants breathtaking views. The flat terrain ensures smooth running conditions from start to finish, making it ideal for both seasoned runners aiming for personal best times as well as beginners seeking a memorable introduction into longer-distance racing experiences. With each step, you’ll enjoy panoramic ocean vistas that stretch out before reaching your destination right by the Atlantic shoreline.
Post-race revelry doesn’t end there; kick off your shoes and head straight to the beach where live bands play upbeat tunes while attendees unwind with chilled Yuengling beer amidst sandy toes and festive cheer. This beloved annual event not only celebrates athletic accomplishment but also embraces a vibrant community spirit unique to Virginia Beach’s lively coastal scene.
The weekend promises an unforgettable blend of competition, camaraderie, and celebration that encapsulates everything runners love about this extraordinary St. Patrick's Day tradition along the eastern seaboard.
Join us in March 2027 for yet another spectacular chapter in Virginia Beach’s storied running legacy at the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend!
