Now in its fourteenth year, the event has become synonymous with authentic off-road challenges that take runners far beyond well-trodden paths to discover hidden gems within the forest. Prepare yourself for winding forest tracks, steep ascents, rocky stone pathways, and the notorious "Ditch of Doom" (though a dry route is available if you prefer).
The 12km course is designed as a single-lap loop that showcases the best terrain Cannock Chase has to offer. With no artificial obstacles or gimmicks, this race focuses purely on natural trail conditions—mud, hills, and all. Water stations are strategically placed every 5 kilometers along the way.
Race day activities include a dedicated kids' event for under-14s with an approximate distance of 2.5km tailored to younger participants while still capturing some of the main route's excitement. Parents can join their children on this shorter but no less adventurous course, and all finishers receive medals as well as small prizes.
Registration opens at 8:00am for both adult/junior runners and the kids' event. The junior race kicks off promptly at 9:30am followed by the main event starting at 10:30am for adults and juniors alike. There's no strict time limit; take your pace, enjoy the scenery, and soak in the atmosphere.
The venue is located conveniently near Rugeley, with easy access from major motorways like M6 J11 or J13.
