About the Event

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Peninsula State Park with the Door County Half Marathon & Nicolet Bay 5K. The half marathon kicks off at 10:00 a.m., offering runners an opportunity to traverse through Wisconsin's beloved landscape on its certified U.S. Track and Field course. Starting near Nicolet Beach, participants are treated to stunning vistas of Lake Michigan as they run along paved trails that wind through the park’s lush woods.
The route is dotted with challenging hills and scenic overlooks, providing a mix of elevation changes and ever-evolving scenery. Runners will experience everything from serene forest paths under dense canopies to exhilarating stretches alongside the sparkling waters of Lake Michigan. The half marathon course loops back around Nicolet Beach for an inspiring finish line.
Just 15 minutes after the start of the main event, the Nicolet Bay 5K commences a short distance west on Shore Road. This out-and-back race takes participants to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse and offers breathtaking views of Horseshoe Island and Lake Michigan along the way. The course is relatively flat compared to the half marathon but still provides an engaging experience with its picturesque shoreline.
Both races share the same finish line, allowing 5K runners to cross it before most half marathon participants arrive. This unique setup ensures that both events are celebrated in tandem, creating a festive atmosphere for all competitors and spectators alike.
Whether you're looking to tackle challenging terrain or enjoy a scenic run along Wisconsin's picturesque coastline, this event offers an unforgettable experience for every type of runner.
